Dear Friends and family,
I wanted to keep you all up to date on what God is doing here in Bucerias, Mexico. I know that for many of us these are “tough times”. Some of you that are receiving this have been unemployed or have been struggling this last year. Can you imagine being unemployed but with no unemployment insurance? Could you imagine being a Senior citizen with no Social Security check or retirement fund, with limited medical aid? This is the present situation in Mexico.
As a church we feel compelled to help those in need. We decided that those who have been receiving assistance through the food program should have the opportunity to return something back into the community. So we did a “work for food” day last Saturday with over 120 volunteers participating to do some cleanup in the community and share God’s love in a practical way.
I always wanted to see this area cleaned up and the welcome sign repainted. Here’s a before and after shot.
- A dump truck was filled with trash picked up by 5 different work teams:
- Youth with a Mission from Salem, Oregon was one of the teams that cleaned up the beaches with Misha and A.J.
- 250 sandwiches made by our Mexican, Canadian and American volunteers
50 brooms, 15 machetes, 100 yellow T-shirts, a dump truck, 20 paint brushes, 15 gallons of paint, 250 sandwiches, 100 bags of free groceries and a total of 120 people working, sharing and giving.
A great way to share God’s love for everyone!
We appreciate your prayers, work and support to this ministry. Thank you for partnering with us in sharing Christ.
Blessings and Thanks,
Keith, Maya, Misha and A.J.
