George and Betty Wakeling founded COC in 1989 with a vision to minister to the homeless, the abused and the needy. This is still our calling today. The ministry has developed over the years to support church planting in Mexico as well. After 26 years of leading Circle of Concern, as well as pastoring and counseling thousands of people, George and Betty decided to pass the baton to the next generation. Carol DeGraff, long time Circle support staff has taken on the privilege of providing leadership and direction for the ministry alongside the Board of Directors. Sadly, Betty and George have both passed away. We miss them dearly and work to honor their memory and legacy
