George and Betty Wakeling founded COC in 1989 with a vision to minister to the homeless, the abused and the needy. This is still our calling today. The ministry has developed over the years to support church planting in Mexico as well. After 26 years of leading Circle of Concern, as well as pastoring and counseling thousands of people, George and Betty decided to pass the baton to the next generation. Carol DeGraff, long time Circle support staff has taken on the privilege of providing leadership and direction for the ministry alongside the Board of Directors. Sadly, Betty passed away September 2016. She is missed dearly. George continues to help Circle of Concern with outreach, networking and more.
