Puerto Morelos - Nov 11-16, 2026
Join us for a new mission trip adventure!
Puerto Morelos, Mexico • Nov 11-16th, 2026 (5 nights, 6 days)
Puerto Morelos Pier
Puerto Morelos is just south of Canun
Last year, our dear friends from Mexico Red, Keith and Maya Durkin began talking with us about a new church plant that friends of theirs have started in Puerto Morelos, just south of Cancun. They told us "I think this could be a good opportunity for Circle of Concern to bring teams to help."
And so, this past March we flew nonstop from TJ to Cancun and spent 4 wonderful days meeting and spending time with Pastor Andres and Abi, originally from TJ, and Hank and Tina, Californians who have retired to Puerto Morelos and are now all busy planting a church and reaching the community.
Their mission so lines up with what we already do, it's a natural fit. The area is beautiful! The ocean water is warm, with a reef barrier 2nd only to the Great Barrier Reef off Australia. The weather is similar to our trips to the Puerto Vallarta area. The jungle is thick and lush and boasts of many fresh water cenotes, some in caves, to swim in.
A Cenote Cave to jump and swim in!
The Bilingual Church service
They are a mission-minded church. They have a vision to reach the vulnerable underserved populations, especially children. Pastor Andres and Abi have only been in Puerto Morelos 3 years and the church attendance is already 250 people, a mix of ex-pats (mostly Canadians and Americans) and Mexicans. The services are bilingual. We visited church and loved it!
After seeing what they are doing we want to be a part and they have invited us to come.
MISSION TRIP INFORMATION
Dates: 11/11 - 11/16, 2026 with an optional add-on stay (depending on interest) at the end (11/16 - 11/18) for an Airbnb on the beach for relaxation.
Cost: $650 per person double occupancy, $750 single occupancy plus air.
(A non-refundable deposit of $150 holds your place – space is limited so sign up soon.) The cost covers lodging, in-country transportation, ministry supplies, a Tshirt, the Welcome dinner, all breakfasts, and Thurs-Saturday lunches. You will need pesos for 3 dinners, Sunday lunch and airport food.
Air Travel: Cancun is a large international airport, so it shouldn't be a problem to find flights that will work timing wise for airport pickup/drop off. Most of us from So Cal will fly from Tijuana to Cancun.
Lodging Accommodations: We will rent two 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom homes that are in a gated community that the Pastor’s family also lives in. There is A/C, and a community swimming pool. The beach is about 2-3 miles away.
What will we do?
1) One day we will work on their newly acquired property.
(We will have another option for anyone who thinks this may be too hard physically for them.)
This property is not where the church meets, but for a big vision they have called Noah's Ark - a community center for the poor - with a free medical clinic, education center and more. You can hear their vision by watching the video below.
The property we will serve on.
2) We will host an outreach in a village in the jungle.
We will probably set up a medical clinic as Abi (the Pastor's wife) is a medical doctor. We will do eyeglasses, pray for people, evangelism, kids stuff, family photos, etc. - our normal COC stuff.

3) We will cook and serve at the Saturday morning Children's breakfast the church offers local kids 2x a month.
We will plan and run a children's program, as well as a time with the moms for crafts, etc. There will be free time for the beach, snorkeling, cenotes, dinners out, etc. We are excited for this new opportunity to serve Jesus in a new place!
